The Division of Professions and Occupations, part of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), is seeking members of the public at large to serve on our professional regulatory boards.

The Division regulates more than 50 professions, occupations and entities in Colorado, ranging from numerous healthcare professions to a varied group of business occupations including electricians, plumbers, architects, outfitters, and more.

Board service can positively affect the lives of Coloradans, and requirements and qualifications to become a board member aren’t overly restrictive. The boards welcome all individuals from all parts of the state to apply.

A public board member is not required to have any experience in the specific profession or occupation being regulated. Instead, these select individuals would be representing the public interest by reviewing complaints against the professional/licensee and collaborating with other public and professional board members to identify equitable resolutions to complaints.

Board members may receive a per diem, along with reasonable travel expenses and meals at each in-person meeting; however, these meetings are currently being held virtually.

If you are someone who enjoys contributing to your community and would like to collaborate with other public and professional board members to ensure public protection for Colorado’s residents, please contact Lisa.Jackson@state.co.us for more information.
